Gordy took us all canoeing on the Delaware! There were two vanfulls of us, 21 people altogether. Our van was mostly 22nd street people. The pride of the block.

And also Leslie and Patrick!

Noam and Hal.

It was a really beutiful day. But then it started to rain. Really, Really hard.

Right at this second when I took this photo the rain came.

I got to man the single kayak! This also meant that I had to power myself through the wind and rain alone. My arms were killing by the end of the day!

Tippage!

At a certain point I thought maybe I was becoming hypothermic, but we found an outcropping and Gordy fed us all gourmet brownies as we huddled under it. Then we went down the river to have lunch.

Gordy and Nicole!

One of the best lunches I may have ever had.

Mostly because of Gordy's quinoa salad and laden cheeseboard, but also because at this point the sun came out, and not only did we need to dry off but we were all pretty battered. Then we swam, and we didn't wait at all! We were livin' it up.

How many preparators does it take to dump out a waterlogged kayak? The answer is three.

So then we returned to the camp, and changed into dry, non-chafing clothes. Gordy took us all to this amazing restuarant called the Walpak Inn. And there just happened to be a bear in the backyard!

Which, p.s., freaked me out, just a little.

And this was kind of wierd...cuz, you know...of the living one twenty feet away from it.

The city-folk were fascinated.

None of the regulars seemed to even notice, however...
