I went with Eddie to his mom's for their holiday party.

I had such a good time that I stayed really late and had to stay over, so I went straight to work from Metro-North the next morning.

The next day I took the train to my mom's.

Max was really excited to see me.

It's a colored-lights tree this year. My mom and my step-father trade off. She likes the white lights.

Everyone made about 20 kinds of cookies.

Including my marshmallow-chocolate Christmas Fudge right there!

Mom's got cable.

THe same day I got there we went to visit some old friends of the family.

We've known these people since I was born.

They live in the same house that they lived in the last time I saw them, maybe when I was in high-school.

Emily and I were were what you call best-friends. She's married now.

p.s. This is us on the first day of school, possibly kindergarten for me, and That is Emily on the right. (Thanks E.) I have the same haircut now. So does she.

Second generation.

Then we went home. Paul found Max's toy in the parking lot at his store. It's a champagne bottle and says "Dog Perignon". It also squeaks, and Max thinks it's his baby. he won't bite it, he just licks it and carries it around.

Max is also afraid of the cat.

My cat must be about 80 by now. Her name is "The Cat".

We ate dinner and then went to church.

My mom gets really mad at me when I take pictures in church, like it's a sin to use your camera in there.

Actual Sears baby photos of Jesus.

Oh, christmas morning we always have pancakes and french toast and bacon.

I had to go back to new york later in the week to do more shopping and to make more fudge, which I didn't end up making for fear I wouldn't give it all away and I would be stuck with it.

My landlord is Christmas-Crazy.

But it is really nice to come home to.
